Do you need ladies left-handed golf clubs?
The estimated number of golfers in the USA today is 25 million. Of these, about 25% are women.
This means that there are around 6 million of us golfing girls and the estimate of left-handed ladies is around 3% of these (or 180,000).
One of the most challenging parts of the game for lefties, is to be able to purchase equipment appropriate to their left-handed game.
Many golf equipment manufacturers only make clubs for right-handed players.
This is not surprising, really, because most golfers today do have a dominant right hand.
Are You At A Disadvantage Being A Left-Handed Golfer?
It seems not. As a left-hander, you can also be a champion golfer. Check out this article about Megan Osland.
While there are fewer left-handed girls who golf, there are some great champion golfers on the PGA Tour. Notably, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson.
The consensus seems to be that it doesn’t matter which hand you play golf with. What matters is your own training and commitment to being great at the game.
Golf Equipment for Left-Handed Golfers.
Until Phil Mickelson and, later, Bubba Watson, made left-handed golf famous, there was scant regard paid by equipment manufacturers to lefties.
While sometimes it is still difficult today to find golf equipment for left-handed players several manufacturers now make both versions of their equipment.
So, those lefties among us do need special golf equipment made for people who are left-handed.
Therefore, we’ve done some research and come up with these four sets that offer both right-hand and left-hand clubs.
With one of these sets, you’ll be well on your way to playing some great golf.

Final Thoughts On Ladies Left-Handed Golf Clubs.
Maybe as a left-handed golfer you have felt under-represented over the years. But perhaps you did not know that there is actually a National Association of Left-Handed Golfers (NALG).
Founded in 1934 by Ben Richter, himself a lefty, of St Louis, MO, the NALG grew through Ben’s tenacity and commitment. So that, by 1936 the first Left-Handed Championship Tournament was held featuring 147 lefties.
The NALG has grown from strength to strength since then and it is not clear exactly when they set up a Woman’s Division, but it does exist now, so you can definitely join as a member if you would like to. And there are monthly newsletters on activities and tournaments for lefties.
We know just how challenging it can be for any golfer to find the right equipment, and especially so if you are a left-handed golfer. Thus, we have researched and found the above-mentioned sets of clubs for you to review and consider purchasing.
Hopefully, some Birdies and Eagles are waiting for you in your next golf game!
Being left-handed has taught me to search harder, lol. I am glad I found your post. I went through all the options you presented here and Callaway Ladies Strata clicked with me. I also like the Fairway Wood that is in this set. So, I will take one of these to my next amateur tournament.
Thanks for stopping by Ann and for commenting on my article. I am right-handed myself and I play with the Callaway Strate clubs. Had them for about 10 years and I love them.
This is awesome! I tried golfing once and I was worse than Adam Sandler. I am ambidextrous, therefore depending on the activity I could be either better lefthanded or better righthanded. Because products are more commonly made for righthanded people it is wonderful to see more lefthanded products like these golf clubs.
Usually, when something is created with gender in mind it is usually made either smaller lighter or with what is considered not a manly color then labeled for girls. What about these clubs makes these lefthanded clubs the ladies’ choice?
Hey Alex, thanks for your comment. It is not the color, it is generally the length of the shaft and the flexibility that makes clubs suitable for women. Ladies clubs are at least one inch shorter than men’s clubs and the shafts are graphite with more flex than men’s clubs. There are exceptions to this, of course, but this is generally the case.
